FAQ

Questions, answered.

The short version: no KYC, your own keys, and the app picks the cheapest route for every payment.

Is there any KYC?

No. No sign-up, no ID, no Vietnamese bank account. You load crypto and pay a QR. That is the whole flow.

Who holds my funds?

You do. Zap.Tips is bring-your-own-key. Your BitcoinVN key is encrypted on your device and never sent to us, so we cannot see or move your balance.

What are the fees?

Zap.Tips takes no fee. You pay the BitcoinVN spread per asset (Bitcoin around 0.4%, USDT around 0.5%, fresh Lightning around 0.9%, Base chain around 2%), and network fees are paid by the sender. See the fees page for the full breakdown.

Which banks work?

Any Vietnamese bank on the VietQR / NAPAS network, around 44 and counting. Scan the bank or merchant QR, or upload a screenshot.

What are the limits?

USDT top-up minimums vary by chain: 0.50 on Polygon, Ethereum and Arbitrum, 5 on BNB and Solana, 4.90 on Base, 37.95 on Tron. Spending from balance starts around 16,000 VND for USDT and 66,000 VND for Bitcoin. A fresh Lightning payment starts around 132,485 VND.

What if a payment fails?

Your funds stay safe in your balance. Nothing leaves until a payment settles, so a failed attempt does not cost you your crypto. You can try again or contact support.

Is my key safe?

Yes. It is encrypted on your device with PBKDF2 (210,000 iterations) then AES-GCM under your passphrase. Only the ciphertext is stored, in your browser. The plaintext key lives in memory for the session only and never reaches our servers.

What assets and chains are supported?

Bitcoin over Lightning, and USDT on Polygon, Tron, Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB, Solana and Base. VND balance is coming soon.

Is there a VND balance?

Not yet. A VND balance is coming soon. For now you spend from your Bitcoin and USDT buckets, and the app picks the cheapest route.

Is this a business?

No. Zap.Tips is a meetup tool built for the Bitcoin DaNang circle, not a company or a product with a sales team.

Do you give financial advice?

No. Nothing here is financial or investment advice. Zap.Tips is a payment tool, not an advisor.
